Album
Surrealistic Pillow is the second studio album by Jefferson Airplane, released in 1967. A defining record of the psychedelic rock movement, it blends folk rock and acid rock with dreamy melodies and surreal lyrics, capturing the essence of San Francisco’s Summer of Love. This album marked the debut of Grace Slick as lead vocalist, whose powerful voice became a signature element of the band. It features some of their most iconic songs, including Somebody to Love and White Rabbit, both of which became anthems of the psychedelic era. Surrealistic Pillow was a commercial and critical success, solidifying Jefferson Airplane as one of the key bands of the late '60s counterculture and influencing generations of psychedelic and progressive rock artists.
