Part travelogue, part poetry, part conversation and part recital, Jont's brainchild, Unlit, has evolved to be a completely unique and inspiring venture. Not content with the regular gig and CD audience dynamic and armed solely with an acoustic guitar and a headful of memories, Jont took the personal approach to the logical limit and directly to the living rooms of America (having dinner with Ginsberg in his NYC apartment along the way). By plugging into the network of fans he attracted by his appearance on the soundtrack to The Wedding Crashers, in 2006 Jont took Unlit across the USA through the houses of MySpacers he'd never met and captured the magical aura of these nights in an online TV series called, "The State We're In" which he posted on Youtube as he went. On his return, the BBC asked him to curate a special Unlit for The BBC's Electric Proms and in 2008 has just completed the first ever Unlit tour of UK MySpace users' houses, the new online TV series of which - aptly named "The House We're In". These magical little episodes are shot by film maker Dave Depares and fronted by Louis Theroux. Tom Baxter, Sam Sparro, Newton Faulkner, Joanaspolicewoman, Lou Rhodes, The Duke Spirit and Adem took Unlit from nomadic hybrid of house party and gig to its now cutting edge online TV status and with all of these artists now enjoying mainstream acclaim the potential for Unlit and whoever it discovers next seems endless.
