Yet, by flipping Fresh Prince & Jazzy Jeff’s “Summertime” classic completely on it’s head like Nova Scotia singer Chad Hatcher has done here, the occasional exception occurs. Sure, the breezy singsong nature might be a tad poppy for certain audiences, but there’s no denying this flip hits the nail on the head as far as mood matching the concept goes. Like the original, this track embodies the warm weather season like firing up the grill or a game of afternoon hoops at the park, but comes from a completely different perspective sonically, giving the track an overly appreciated vibe in general.
