Album
"Strange Days" is the second studio album by the American rock band the Doors, released on September 25, 1967, by Elektra Records, eight months after the release of their self-titled debut album. Following the commercial success of their debut, the band began working on a mix of new and previously developed material in early 1967 for this follow-up. The album reached number three on the US Billboard 200 and was later certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It includes two singles that entered the Top 30 of the Billboard Hot 100: "People Are Strange" and "Love Me Two Times". While "Strange Days" did not replicate the commercial impact of the band's debut, it has received recognition for its musical and artistic qualities. Author David V. Moskowitz noted that the album may have been the one the band valued most for its musical and creative direction. Music journalist Stephen Davis has described "Strange Days" as the Doors’ finest album and referred to it as a significant example of the 1960s rock movement.
