Steve McQueen is the second studio album by the English pop band Prefab Sprout, released in June 1985 by Kitchenware Records. Produced by Thomas Dolby, the album is widely regarded as the band's masterpiece and a defining release of the sophisticated pop genre. It built upon the promise of their debut, Swoon, replacing that record's jagged complexity with a lush, spacious soundscape that perfectly complemented Paddy McAloon's intricate songwriting. Due to legal conflicts with the estate of the late American actor Steve McQueen, the album was released in the United States under the title Two Wheels Good. Despite the title change, the track listing remained largely the same, although some American pressings included slightly different mixes. The album features some of the band's most enduring songs, including "Appetite," "Bonny," and the hit single "When Love Breaks Down," which became their first entry on the UK Singles Chart. The collaboration between McAloon and producer Thomas Dolby is frequently cited by critics as one of the most effective partnerships in 80s pop, blending acoustic textures with subtle synthesizer programming. In 2007, a "Legacy Edition" of the album was released, featuring a remaster of the original tracks alongside a bonus disc of new acoustic versions recorded by McAloon, reinterpreting the songs with a mature, stripped-back arrangement. It was followed in 1988 by the commercially successful From Langley Park to Memphis. User-contributed text is ava
