"We started writing “Squamata” almost immediately after the release of our debut EP “Standard Issue”. Our whiteboard was never the same; almost an oil man quality, so vigorous and persistent that the multitude of outpouring from each of us was nearly too much to conjure up. The beginning was completely conceptual and as it began to be narrowed down, as we weeded away from the deep abyss, we figured out our only authentic way to express ourselves; which was to create the album you hear. There is ultimately nothing to be found on the surface of this album, just by our nature. Squamata took probably hundreds of hours to weave together from sonically fitting pieces, throwing away countless songs to fitting lyrical themes to album cover - you get it. Our jobs, outside of jobs or second jobs, was to finish this album, and since all three of us contributed to everything from lyrics, to concepts and structures, we had finished writing in about 7-8 months. After that, we didn't wait around to find a studio, or a label. DIY only, we bought the board, the mics, hooked up the lines, this piece is 100% made from our decisions alone. From us to you, listen to this with full intent, finish every song, play it like you would your favourite stuff. If you've lost someone, broken up, or felt sick by the nature of this world then you will understand the truth we have told in this album. Thank you dearly." - Real Fiend User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License;
