Spellbound is the second studio album by American singer Paula Abdul, released on May 14, 1991, via Virgin Records and Captive Records. Despite getting criticism that stated it demonstrated her vocal limitations, the album was a commercial success, peaking at number one on the US Billboard 200 and breaking into the top ten in Australia, Canada, Sweden, and the UK. In all, six singles were released, including the number one hits "Rush Rush" and "The Promise of a New Day" on the Billboard Hot 100, the latter of which was her sixth and final number one to date. "Blowing Kisses in the Wind," "Vibeology," which Abdul sang at the 1991 MTV Video Music Awards, "Will You Marry Me?" and "Alright Tonight," which was only available in Canada, were among the other singles. As of right now, the album has three platinum certifications in the US The Grammy Award for Best Recording Package went to Spellbound.
