Got this info off a youtube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zd-4xNIjW5o "Jamaica 1975, the heyday of roots and culture - Stanley Beckford (who basically was The Starlights) was a throwback to the old mento music, in both his vocal style and lyrics. He didn't show any American influence at all and so in a sense was the real roots sound. Soldering was a huge hit, despite being widely banned on radio for obscenity. Many other artists rushed out records in the same vein - notably I Roy with Welding and Johnny Clarke with Rebel Soldering. Stanley unfortunately died of cancer last year, having just enjoyed a revival performing mento on tour in Europe. " This album is raw, funny, and brilliant. When I hear it,I can feel the Jamaican heat and taste the mangoes. I think "Born again Rastafari" is a neglected classic.
