Slime Language 2 is the second full-length album from Young Stoner Life Records, the label founded and spearheaded by Young Thug. It is the proper sequel to its August 2018 predecessor. The possibility of Slime Language 2 was first teased by Gunna in an interview on May 22, 2020. The album’s lead single, “Take It to Trial,” was officially released on December 18, 2020. It was accidentally and momentarily released on the day following Thanksgiving. The album’s second single, “GFU,” was released on January 29, 2021. Two weeks later, the album’s third and final single, “That Go!,” was released on February 12. On January 27, two days before “GFU” was released, “Slatty” leaked. On April 9, a few days after snippets were teased by both Thug and Gunna, “Ski” leaked. Three days later, on April 12, Thug and other members of YSL announced the album’s imminent release date of April 16, alongside its artwork.
