SLEEZ RELIGION is SosMula’s third studio mixtape, following up April 2022’s 2 HIGH 2 DIE and December 2022’s SLEEZ MACHINE with Synthetic. The mixtape was first teased on August 4, 2022, when SosMula took to Instagram to where he announced his next project, officially revealing the mixtape’s name. On October 16, 2022, a leaker on Instagram leaked some information about the mixtape, speculating that it would come out by 2023 (under a different name titled MOLLY WORLD), alongside sharing speculated release dates of a City Morgue album and a ZillaKami solo project. On November 8, 2022, a fan on Instagram released DM’s with SosMula revealing that the mixtape would be a Horrorcore album and giving fans on what they want for new music. He spoke about the mixtape again on December 4. After keeping quiet about the album, on February 19, 2023, SosMula took to Twitter asking fans who they want on the project, alongside revealing that that SLEEZ RELIGION would be released in the Summer of 2023. He would further confirm the Summer release date on March 9, in an Instagram post. After a bit of silence again, on March 29, 2023, a fan on Instagram posted conversations with SosMula, confirming that a big Drill feature would be on the album, alongside two Drill songs will be on the album. Then on June 15, 2023, SosMula took to Instagram announcing that the mixtape was finished, as well as announcing in a now-deleted Instagram stories that the mixtape will also have a short film following
