Originally supposed to be relased on May 26, 2023, Laurence pushed the fully-finished album back to its September 22, 2023 release date. In his announcement, the singer cited that his reason for this was to give Skyboy “the attention, the promotion and the love and care it needs after release,” which he felt he was unable to provide following exhausting and mentally draining months in the lead up to the original release date.
