Album
Under his new personality as one of the most creative minds in the current underground, Edward King Bass IV “Edward Skeletrix” combines bizarre, futuristic sounds with ecstatic, rage rapping to produce his debut studio album, Skeletrix Language. With Rappéur, (a parody of Playboi Carti’s "Teen X") blowing up on TikTok (due to the odd AI videos that accompanied it), Edward’s music quickly gained traction in march of 2024. Featuring production from artists such as o0o, Skeletrix Language encompasses a rollercoaster of emotions throughout the album. The tracklist switches up from bouncy, ecstatic rage beats to slower, more poetic songs, often accompanied by deep, emotional lyricism, touching on heavy topics. Edward’s excellent lyricism is most well observed in songs Skeletrix Island 4 and Typical Rap Song 10, of which both address issues such as depression, drug use and overcoming society, possibly influenced by Edward’s own mental issues and his time spent working in a psych ward. The album closes on a slow and moody note through the song Typical Rap Song 10, which features 8 minutes of silence towards the end- perhaps allowing the listener to sit with the deep range of emotions envoked by the album.
