about this album

"Shock" is the eleventh studio album by American rock band Tesla. It was produced and co-written by Phil Collen and released on March 8, 2019, via UMe. The album was recorded at J Street Recorders and is the final Tesla album to feature drummer Troy Luccketta. In January 2019, the band released the album's title track, followed by "California Summer Song" the next month. Critical reception highlighted the album's blend of retro and blues-influenced rock. Robert Rheubottom of AXS described the title track as opening with an 1980s-inspired backbeat, featuring bass and guitar accompaniment under Jeff Keith’s vocals. Lauryn Schaffner of Loudwire noted that "Taste Like" is a gritty rock song reflecting the band's bluesy, 1970s-inspired style.
