"Shatterday" is an ambitious CD, ranging from pure electronic abstractions (The Lamps of Avernus) to electronic jazz (Lights Out) to meditative ambient (the title track). The wide range of styles leads to the CD as a whole seeming somewhat unfocused. Shatterday was composed and performed on a single keyboard (the Ensoniq VFX) and recorded directly from its internal sequencer.
