Album
The album "Seven" is a journey of brokenness, seeking restoration. Before releasing "Seven", NBC used Will's songs in the TV dramas, "Friday Night Lights" and "Life". Much like these TV shows, Will's songs are like a soundtrack to the light and night of our life. Will Derryberry's songs are written from a postmodern perspective. Songs like "Seven" lyrically wafts in the apocalyptic with a dark, yet, hopeful longing. "California" calls out imitators of paradise, truth, and love. The restoration of love is experienced in "Where Your Heart Lives". In a music industry era that continues to press a candy coated interpretation of hope faith and love, Derryberry strips away the overzealous sweetness and speaks on the tension of hoping for that which hasn't come to fruition, a turbulent faith in that which is invisible, and discerning love from longing, and longing from lust.
