Smoking Alaska is a band consisting of the foursome Alex Nas, Wiebe Beernink, Thijs Gieben and Frank Peters. In October of 2012 Thijs, Frank and Wiebe formed the band "Down Under". After winning a music contest within one month and receiving lots of positive feedback from the Jury and local newspapers they decided to continue, and how! In February this year Alex joined the band with his vocals and boosted the sound of the band. They decided to change their name to Smoking Alaska to start fresh with their new singer and they started writing new songs. Meanwhile the band has quite a big repertoire already and their reputation is growing fast. Last summer they tried to do as much performances as they could to gain more experience.
