Say Hello is the debut full-length album by New Jersey-based rock and roll artist Sweet Pete, released in 2021. The project serves as the solo endeavor of singer-songwriter Pete Mazza, following his ten-year tenure as the frontman of the Connecticut garage rock quartet Jacques Le Coque. The album draws heavily on early rock and roll influences, recontextualizing them with modern energy rather than functioning as a strict tribute act. Say Hello features a backing band that includes rhythm guitarist Trevor Lake of Televisionaries and lead guitarist Collin J. Rocker of OLD LADY. The record establishes Sweet Pete's signature blend of high-energy showmanship and classic rock and roll sensibilities. Upon its release, Say Hello received positive coverage from independent music outlets. The music blog Add To Wantlist praised the album's energetic, original songwriting, noting that while the record is influenced by the past, it "is not dated anywhere" and serves as "new evidence: rock & roll is here to stay." The blog later included Say Hello in its list of the best albums of 2021. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
