This first EP by Mike Lovesick serves as an introduction to his varied and singular style of song writing, as well as a "best of" for his writings and recordings over the past two years (2006-2007). The songs range from nostalgic ballads ("The First Time") to raucous blues revivals ("Silent Blues"). Aside from the title track, which provides a surrealist portrait of a femme fatale who "Puts bourbon in the punch" and "Steals your girlfriend over lunch", Lovesick's greatest moment is the tragic tale of "Atlantic City Girls". Riding shotgun with a psycho, the song is loosely based on the serial murders of several prostitutes in Atlantic City, NJ in 2006. Lovesick wears his influences on his sleeve, but each song here is undeniably his. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
