As with previous albums it explores the artists journey through the universe and experiences of love, death, joy and hate through music. Road to Jupiter also follows Wolfgun's convention of using lyrics from past albums in a selection new tracks. The Countdown In the 14 days before the release the album's website featured a countdown in days as 'X WARPS TO JUPITER', where X was the number of days. The website displayed stars flying outwards from the centre of the page, giving the impression of space travel (towards Jupiter). Each day featured quiet and distorted audio from one of the album's 14 tracks. 12 days before the album's release a star appeared on the website which, when clicked, embedded this video of an undistorted extract from track 13: Time. Three days before the album was released the star's video changed to this extract from track 2: Road to Jupiter. On the final day before the album's release a pixel art Jupiter appeared behind the text '1 WARP TO JUPITER'.
