Rise is the debut studio album by American singer Samantha James, released on September 25, 2007, under the label Om Records. The record was co-written and produced by Sebastian Arocha Morton-AKA ROCAsound. Four singles were released, including the title track, which reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart. The album mixes R&B, house and nu-jazz and her sultry style, vocal cadences, and international rhythms were largely influenced by artists like Sade, Basia, Amel Larrieux, Bebel Gilberto and Morcheeba.
