Ethelbah) Daffodil's debut EP "Remnant" is an original, 6-song powerhouse of lush yet dirty guitars, choral harmonies, driving mid-tempo drums, dynamic counterpoint bass, and thoughtful arrangements, all within an accessible alternative and borderline ambient modern-rock sensibility. Although Daffodil was conceived in 1999 by guitarist and songwriter Upton Ethelbah, "Remnant" marks the band's first foray into the pro-audio album market. Robust gigging in and around Austin, Texas, coupled with incessant DIY recording and demo give-aways finally led do a concerted studio effort with Austin engineer and fellow musician Danny Stapleton.
