Protector is a German Thrash Metal band founded in 1986 in Wolfsburg . Since the founding of the band 2011 the headquarters of the band Stockholm and Uddevalla ( Sweden ). Band History Protector was founded in 1986 by Michael Hasse († 1994), "Hansi" Müller and Michael Schnabel. Within the Metal scene , Protector, in contrast to bands like Kreator , Sodom and Destruction , drew attention only to Germany. International success remained unfulfilled until the end, while within Germany some success could be achieved. After recording the demo Protector of Death , Protector received a record deal with Atom H in 1987 . In the same year appeared the mini-LP Misanthropy , which received in very good specialist magazines very good reviews. The second Album Golem was sold according to the records of the record company about 20,000 times. There followed major appearances, including a tour with the US metallers Wehrmacht . Protector did not change his style and got bad reviews in 1989 after the release of the album Urm the Mad . Through numerous performances with Kreator, Sodom, Destruction and other bands grew the fan base fast. However, the band had the problem that the former singer Martin Missy could not always live for professional reasons, so that Protector relied on Oliver Wiebel, whose singing style was clearly different from the Missys.
