With roots firmly planted in classic rock, Peter Charles reinvents modern rock by creating a unique sound with an unrivaled authenticity and purity. "Rare Event" is a new album entirely composed, arranged and produced by Peter Charles. Peter Charles (Naugler) is a former member of Mensa and a graduate of OCAD. The artistry of his song writing has continued to mature since he was introduced on stage by Murray MacLaughlin at the Mariposa Folk Festival. Past performers in the festival have included Joni Mitchell, James Taylor and surprise appearances by Neil Young and Bob Dylan. For that solo performance of original material Peter Charles accompanied himself with a Martin D41 and Hohner Blues harmonicas. That was followed by performances at The Riverboat, York University and a week long engagement at the Egress in Vancouver, sharing the stage with the legendary jazz artist Charles Lloyd. Back in Toronto he co-created the band “Wonderdog” along with the late Paul Bonner, (drums) Byron Stoehr, (bass) and Jim Knettle (lead guitar). A previous incarnation of the band included Gord Hobbs on lead guitar who died of leukemia at the age of 20. Subsequent band members included Peter Holmsey on drums, Will Isbister, also on drums, and Richard Fallis on bass guitar. Wonderdog played clubs in and around Toronto including Grossman's and the Commodore. Writing and recording has been the main preoccupation lately with the exception of performances with “Modern Republic” whose members include
