After releasing their debut, theaudience quickly made way for a 2nd album and began working on music that developed their sound which drifted away from their britpop roots. Instead, the songs reflected a more indie-rock sound which compared to their debut, was a lot harsher in tone. Thoughout the years 1998-1999, theaudience recorded and worked on songs for the planned 2nd album, totalling to around 33 songs (since confirmed by guitarist Billy Reeves) but after submitting the promised tracks to label Mercury, they were rejected and subsequently released from the label, theaudience parted ways soon after. While a definitive list/album was never comprised of these tracks, a fan-made bootleg album under the name Quiet Storm began circling around the internet (circa 2010) making use of the demos that had began to emerge on the internet which showcased 14 of these leaked tracks supported by fan-made imagery.
