Propeller is the fifth album by Guided By Voices. Initially meant to be the band's last album, due to years of obscurity and debt, the album ended up "propelling" GBV to a higher-profile status and influence. The cover art of the original vinyl run was different for each copy. Each copy featured an original, handmade cover, which a gallery of can be viewed here. Sonically, the album draws from noise pop, post-punk, power pop and garage rock, along with a couple acoustic tracks. Track 11, "Back To Saturn X Radio Report", is a collage of previously recorded but not released GBV tracks (excluding Damn Good Mr. Jam), which were recorded for a scrapped record called "Back To Saturn X". Most would be released later. The songs featured are, in order: Buzzards and Dreadful Crows (Suitcase Version) Sopor Joe (Released on King Shit and the Golden Boys ).
