Album
Prisoners is the third studio album by Canadian metal band The Agonist. It was released on June 4th in Europe and June 5th 2012 in North America via Century Media records and was produced by the band's longtime producer Christian Donaldson. "Ideomotor" has been confirmed as the first single. Combining elements that draw from numerous metal subgenres to create a whole that is much greater than the sum of its parts, The Agonist's Prisoners picks up where 2009's Lullabies for the Dormant Mind left off, with a dizzying array of musical time changes, complex riffing and lyrics as dense and heady as Stephen Hawking drowned in a sea of lead. Their attention to detail and willingness to paint outside of the lines pays off in spades with Prisoners, highlighting The Agonist's place among metal's fearless sonic innovators. Alissa White-Gluz - vocals Danny Marino - guitars Pascal "Paco" Jobin - guitars Chris Kells - bass, backing vocals Simon McKay - drums, percussions Production Christian Donaldson - producer Tue Madsen - mixing User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
