Album
Peanut Brittle Satellite formed in Buffalo, NY in September of 2007. They quickly attracted attention from local musicians and dedicated fans in the local music scene. Peanut Brittle Satellite's blend of face-melting rock and intricate composition leaves listeners stunned. The inspiration for the band's sound can be traced across numerous genres with influences like Steve Reich, Meshuggah, Return to Forever, and Yes. The band's two drummers (Ryan Campbell and Shawn Brandel) provide the kind of robust backbone that all great prog-rock is built upon. Bassist, Ian Machniak, meets the audience with intensity and grace reminiscent of Jaco Pastorius. Zach Kushner, on keys, builds on the sonic landscape with fat synths and watery electric pianos. Evan "Karl" Courtin, on the electric violin and glockenspiel, gives the compositions bright melodies and serene rhythms. Zack Mikida and multi-instrumentalist Shawn Brandel wield their guitars to bring the band's songs to a frothy head, overflowing with screeching solos and unbridled rock.
