Phat Cat Swingers' first album (self titled) was released in July 2005 and holds such fanatical songs such as “Hep Cats”, “Money Tree” and the crowd’s favorite sing along song “Smolie Olie Olie”. Most of the bands original songs were composed by none other than sax man Marco Palos. The band's original trumpeter, Joe Rib, provided some fun lyrics to Volcano Joe and Money Tree while Phil Clevinger brought the catchy horn lines and melody to Volcano Joe.The rest of the band pitched in until they reached melodies that take you from toe tapping jazz to smooth sultry tango. The musicians on this album include all 9 original band members: Original Vocalist Tim Porter and Nikki Apodaca, Will Pattinson, Marco Palos, Phil Clevinger, Joe Rib, Matt Burdick, Sebastian Western and Jeff Wagner. The band even brought in a few special guests to add some extra flavor to the album. While only 3 original members remain today, Phat Cat Swinger continues to perform and write new music for a new generation of members. The band has reported in the summer of 2011 that a new album has been recorded and is now in post production. No release date has been announced yet, but it's anticipated that this new album will showcase the same care free fun that the band brought in their first album with fresh new arrangements and the talents of all the current band members.
