'Persistence' is the debut release for Runaround Kids. It was released 23rd June, after being recorded a day earlier. It was recorded at Irene Cottage studios by Rob Slater of The Spills. Writing of what was to become the EP began in October 2007, when the band line-up was finalised. These first songs were End Of The Tunnel, Big Mistakes, and a riff that would become Stede Bonnet. Along with these were Spun-Out Shotgun, which was dropped by the band, and a song with the working title of 'Conversation', of which the lyrics were taken and used for Stede Bonnet. Around December, Lovestruck was written and first practised, and Easy/Flat was introduced around March. All of these songs were played at the band's debut gig, a charity event organised by the band. After minor changes to the songs after their live test, the band took time out during their exam period and recorded them soon after.
