Album
In 2011, I went to live in Austin. Unlike what most expect from a conservative state like Texas, Austin is one of the most open-minded and cultured cities in the United States. The city’s motto is taken quite seriously: Keep Austin Weird. I ended up staying in a large house, where there were at least a hundred others. During my stay, I encountered several amazing carefree people, many of whom were truly devoted to the idea of making music and enjoying life. With the help of some of these people, I have composed and recorded seven songs in the attempt to chronicle what I’ve experienced and learned during this time. I hope that the sounds and the lyrics have captured the energy of this place. If they have not, hopefully the mixture of the carioca guitar and the Texan banjo will be worth the while. This album is the musical account of the months I spent in a house named Pearl. Hope you enjoy it.
