Passiflora is an unreleased solo project led by Swedish singer and musician Tobias Forge, recorded in the summer of 2007 with the help of the Swedish band MCC , and completed by 2008. The album was sent to record labels, but it was rejected. It was initially intended to be the second full-length LP by SubVision, following their 2006 debut So Far So Noir. It was decided by the group and Tobias that Passiflora was to be Tobias Forge’s solo debut. The group was also referred to as “Tobias Forge & Magna Carta Cartel” in early 2008. "When I wrote the songs and recorded them I was a little bit irritated that I have not written them in a key, that was ideal for my singing. I think Passiflora was definitely a super ambitious record, I was so filled with emotions and creativity. You know I had a real vision for that record, I had a real vision for that band. It literally really didn’t go anywhere. If you write a love letter and that just like disappears into the void, you would just try to distance yourself from it as soon as possible, and that’s what I felt." —Tobias Forge, from the interview with Chaoszine Most of the album’s material are written and recorded by Tobias Forge, but Martin Persner (also known as Indio Marcato / Omega) from MCC also participated in the writing and recording process of the album, contributing to songs such as “Savant Garde” and “Lucifer & Lucia”.
