The Flow is a project based around the song writing talents of Bristol-born Ben Constable currently based in Paris. Having been previously involved in the club scene in the UK and France, Ben was desperate to record a new project that reflected his interest in jazz, dirtier, older sounds and homemade improvised recording techniques. Utilising the wonderful and dynamic vocal talents of his sister Jessica Constable, as well as various contributions from other jazz players, Ben spent the best part of a year writing "One Thing". The album also includes a beautifully realised cover version of the Black Sabbath track “It’s Alright” from the album “Technical Ecstasy”. Ben’s gorgeous arrangement has transformed the track into a wonderfully Beatles-esque ballad. The album includes performances by some of Frances premiere musicians from the underground Jazz and Hip-hop scenes. The sound is a mixture of live and programmed instrumentation and might be categorised as jazz-hop or trip-jazz / funk-hop. Essentially it’s a beautiful balance of smooth bass lines, groovy beats with jazz inflections and moody arrangements augmented by polished and emotive vocal performances. Picture a smoke filled Paris nightclub full of Existentialist beatnik’s moving seductively to the beat, yeah, that’s it. French DJ, impresario and Producer, Laurent Garnier (himself!) handpicked the track “Final” from the album, for inclusion on his F-Communications labels annual compilation, “Megasoft Office 2005”. Us
