On The Rocks: White Roxx released their On the Rocks demo album in cassette format only in 1986. The recording was made at No Sweat studios and was produced by Clive Culbertson (ex-The Sweat, ex-Van Morrison). Although Culbertson's production did not really capture the energy and drive of a White Roxx live show, it did allow the band to record clear representative versions of their own material. The studio recordings saw the introduction of keyboards on some tracks these were played by Clive Culbertson and Roxx lead guitarist Pete Manley. The track listing was as follows: side 1) End of the World, Ride Out the Storm, Lonely Heart, Hungry For Love, We Live For Rockndole. Side 2) Are You Ready for Love, Here Comes the heart Ache, Cold Hearted Woman, Actions Speak Louder Than Words, The Arms of a Stranger. 300 copies of the cassette were made and sold out within weeks of hitting the streets. These cassettes have become highly collectable. Second hand copies of On The Rocks have traded on e-bay for as much as Β£15.00, which is not a bad price for a second hand cassette. Lonely Heart: Interestingly, Lonely Heart appears on the album as a ballad and was immediately compared to Foreigners hit I want to Know What Love Is. This track was originally played mid tempo, in a style often compared to The Police and was included when producer Culbertson demanded at least one slow number on the album. Slowing the tune down for the recording was a masterstroke by Roxx guitarist Pete Manley. Lo
