Cognition is passion for Metal. When you listen to the debut album, "Omnipotent", you'll be greeted with a seriously varied mixture of Metal. Cognition is not one of those bands that set out to be weird for the sake of being weird. Cognition is a display of passion and excitement for Metal on so many levels it can't quite be reduced to one core subgenre so easily, however regardless of which specific subgenre shines through the most in each particular song, they all display a relentless love of Metal and genuine passion for the music. We also think the songs are rock solid and uncompromisingly catchy, but we'll let you be the judge of that! The core concept of the "Omnipotent" album deals with the idea that you are in charge of your cognitive processes and how you ultimately choose to perceive your surroundings. So in a sense you are omnipotent, because you live in the world you see, and we all have our own experience of this world, and if you don't like what you see, you can choose to manipulate your perspectives. Cognition originally started in the outskirts of Oslo, Norway, in 2005. Since then there have been 2 Demo CDs, and finally on the band's five year anniversary, the debut album, which features several guest musicians from the UK music scene.
