Songs from the upcoming debut studio album "Nihilist" were written in the period between 2018 and 2020, when Jurčić is no longer able to ignore the distorted values of the Croatian public. Given the symptomatic state of nihilism and the cynicism of the times in which we live, the main themes of the poems tend to replicate just that, and connect them to the empowering philosophy of Nietzsche and Kierkegaard. Mammoth wants to tell listeners that they are not alone in their sense of worthlessness and that they have the power to question, destroy and create within themselves. Specifically, the first single from the album and the eponymous song "Nihilist" by which Mamut presents his upcoming album, was written in response to a wave of primitivism, hatred and resistance of a certain part of the Croatian public towards the ratification of the Istanbul Convention. The album as a whole is a journey that an individual goes through when he begins to see the cracks in the value system of the society in which he lives. The journey begins with the renunciation of hypocritical social norms and begins with the search for new or correct ones, and ends with the realization that there is no world or life other than this, and that this life is the only one that matters, the only one worth fighting for.
