Nightmare (Korean: 악몽; Chinese: 惡夢; agmong) is the debut single album by South Korean girl group Dreamcatcher. It was released on January 13, 2017, with “Chase Me” serving as the title track. The album marks the official debut of Dreamcatcher and the beginning of the group’s overarching Nightmare Series, a conceptual storyline centered around dark fantasy, horror elements, and recurring dream motifs. The album features four tracks, including an instrumental version of the title song. “Welcome to Dream” serves as an atmospheric intro that establishes the eerie tone of the release, while “Emotion” (소원 하나) contrasts the title track with a softer, emotional sound. Nightmare followed the disbandment of the group MINX, from which five of Dreamcatcher’s members originated. In late 2016, the group was reintroduced under a new name and concept, alongside the addition of two new members. Beginning on November 30, 2016, teaser content was released to reveal the new lineup, with Gahyeon introduced first, followed by Handong on December 1. On January 13, 2017, the music video for “Chase Me” was released alongside the album. The song’s rock-influenced sound and horror-inspired visuals set Dreamcatcher apart from typical girl group debuts at the time and established the foundation for their signature style and long-term narrative direction.
