Never Go is the sole compilation by I Hate This Place. It was only released in Japan and is primarily made up of tracks from 2006’s Aero, and 2007’s Nowhere Else, both of which never saw a physical release outside of the US. The title track, however, Never Go, was not available elsewhere at the time the compilation's release in early 2008*, but would be included on I Hate This Place's next full album, Our Hearts Still Beating, upon it's US release in August of that same year. Because of the time gap in between the compilation and the album, the version of Never Go featured on the former features a significantly different mix then would be heard on the album come August. Consequently, it can be inferred that the song having already come out in Japan, and as the title track to the only other I Hate This Place CD physically available in the country, no less, is why the Japanese pressing of Our Hearts Still Beating replaces Never Go with Parasite, a song lifted from I Hate This Place's 2005 record, Diversions. With this in mind, one could surmise that the compilation was created to test the Japanese market's response to I Hate This Place, and determine if it was worthwhile to release the then upcoming album in the country.
