Mythos is a collection of (mainly) acoustic songs inspired by stories from H. P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos. 'Batrachian Hymn' was constructed from samples of whippoorwills and frogs recorded in the swamps of southeastern Virginia. 'Only the Ugly' was written in collaboration with Kevin Chatham, and is narrated from the perspective of a practitioner of the black arts. 'Shub' is the story of a man who falls in love with Shub-Niggurath, the "Black Goat of the Woods". The vocals were recorded on a Palm Pilot. 'The Yellow Sign' was inspired of the excellent story of the same name by Robert Chambers. 'Whisper in the Dark' re-imagines the Lovecraft story 'The Whisperer in the Dark', with a romantic twist.
