Album
My Dreams Dictate My Reality is the second album by French singer SoKo. It was released on 2 May 2015, through Because Music and Babycat Records. The album takes influence from gothic rock, post-punk and new wave music, departing from the folk style of SoKo's previous releases. All songs were written or co-written by SoKo herself, with co-writing credits to Ambroise Willaume, Stella Mozgawa, and featured artist Ariel Pink. The album was produced by Ross Robinson. Ariel Pink contributed vocals to two tracks - "Lovetrap" and "Monster Love" - after SoKo guested on two tracks from his album "pom pom". "Monster Love" was the first track written for the album. It featured in the short film "MONSTER LOVE", which was directed by SoKo and uploaded to her YouTube channel on 26 June 2013. The video also featured the track "I Just Want to Make It New With You" from SoKo's previous album. "Ocean of Tears" is the only single taken from the album. The accompanying music video was uploaded to YouTube on 3 February 2015, a day before the single was released on iTunes. "Ocean of Tears" was also released on 7" vinyl. The album was released digitally, and on CD, LP, and cassette. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
