'Mountainhead' is the seventh studio album by British band Everything Everything, released on 1 March 2024 through BMG. The album explores themes of capitalism, social fracturing, and existential angst in a futuristic setting, where society is obsessed with building a giant mountain at the expense of living in a deep pit. The album was written, recorded, and produced by the band in Stockport, with the help of guitarist Alex Robertshaw. Unlike their previous album Raw Data Feel, which made use of artificial intelligence to create content, Mountainhead entirely avoids plug-ins and effects, resulting in a more organic and melodic sound. The album received critical acclaim for its inventive and earnest approach to progressive pop and electronica, as well as its strong metaphorical concept.
