This third album by Kuutana, is the first part of a multi-part series inspired by familiar celestial events which inspire us with their beauty. You are invited to relax, and explore rich evolving soundscapes. Album Notes From Kuutana: " In this this third album by Kuutana, the haunting beauty of the rising moon is explored in music. "A Quiet Thought" starts the album with a gentle paced space-lullaby celebrating the quiet moments of anticipation as the moon rises into the Earth's sky. "Tsukimi" honors the Japanese moon-viewing festival which honors the autumn moon. "Koshogatsu" is inspired by the "Little New Year" festival, traditionally celebrating the first full moon of the new year. The title track "Moonrise" follows, with a hypnotic contemplation of the profound effect the Moon has on our Earth and it's seas. "Dawn" is imagined as those first quiet moments, in a quiet bay by the sea. "After the Rain" is a quiet soundscape, where following a night time rain, the clouds recede to reveal the waking moon. "Na Pali Sunset" celebrates the mystical Na Pali coast of Kauai, a place of incredible beauty. And finally, "Stillness" reminds us of the forbidding nature of our celestial neighbor, the Moon."
