These quiet jewels are Thomas’ attempt, as he puts it in his own words… “To capture those moments of childhood existing only in memory which, when recalled, cause a slight tightening of the chest at the realisation of things lost, and to capture the beauty of those moments in sound. These small moments, pristine in their imperfection, give rise to a reverie this album seeks, in a small way, to capture.” The only instrument used is an old Fender Telecaster. Each piece was recorded in one take to record the moment “with the good and the imperfect all part of the memory”. These are soft wistful compositions that successfully evoke a nostalgic feeling yet does not forsake the pain and discomfort of childhood that we often wish to forget.
