insound.com: The Plastic Constellations (TPC) started playing together eons ago as rambunctious 14-year-old best friends in 1995. Their first and only band ever, the four boys began storming the Midwest club scene in 1999, and quickly attracted a large following with their energetic and infectious live shows. As Atmosphere's Slug once said in City Pages, "This city is not big enough to hold their energy." Now, as slightly more mature 22-year-olds, TPC continues to wow audiences with their rhythmic intensity, anthemic melodies, and playful sense of humor. Lacking any sense of pretension whatsoever, the band draws from a diverse range of influences, ranging from the classic indie rock of Pavement to the booty-shaking rhythm of Dismemberment Plan, and leaves live audiences sweaty and spent. While their influences are varied, the band manages to keep a unique musical focus. From the unifying rally cry of "We Came to Play" to the epic throwdown of "Davico" and the catchy, revved up pop of the title track "Mazatlan," the band crafts intense songs of purpose, joy, humor, and hope.
