Maverick (stylised in all caps) is Japanese pop-singer MEG's seventh studio album, and fourth under Universal J. The album was released in Japan on 23 June 2010. This was her last original studio effort with Yasutaka Nakata as producer. Released in Japan on June 23, 2010, it peaked at number 20 on the Oricon chart in its chart debut, and stayed on the chart for four weeks in total. One single was released from the album, Secret Adventure. Released on April 28, 2010, it reached number 44 on the Oricon chart, where it charted for two weeks. The album signs the departure from MEG's recent work at the time, showing a more organic side of Nakata's production, less processing on the vocals and showing a more human side of MEG, deprived from the sparkles of her party life descriptions. This album will be the realization of MEG's need to take a break from the music industry, considering Nakata's rushed realization for the arrangements in sole three weeks.
