Album
A beloved debut album from this favourite of the London live circuit. Recorded ‘as live’, ‘Many Fish To Fry’ is a big, open sounding album, jam-packed full of great pop songs. Jake Morley is remarkable talent. A hugely popular artist on the London circuit, he draws a diverse and enthusiastic audience. His ‘lap style’ guitar playing is jaw-dropping but it’s his songs – the hook-filled melodies and poetic lyrics - that are growing his fan-base and reputation well beyond his home town. Whether gigging with his 4-piece band (which includes Nizlopi double bass player John Parker), or as a solo performer, the reaction of the crowd is always one of pure delight. ‘Many Fish To Fry’ is full of memorable songs ranging from the poignant 'This City' through to the feel-good ‘I Saw Something’, even featuring a full choir on the upbeat fan favourite ‘Feet Don’t Fail Me Now’. An early EP, boosted by play on Radio 2 and 6 Music, grabbed the attention of renowned producers Phill Brown (Bob Marley / Talk Talk / Faithless) and Calum MacColl (Rokia Traore / Ronan Keating / Eddi Reader) who worked alongside Jake and the other musicians to create an album that overflows with soulful instrumentation, warm vocals and strong lyrics.
