Manchester Times, Release Date 25th Jan 2010, Official liner notes by author of sleeve notes for many past Hollies albums MANCHESTER TIMES:...Is the Third album by Salford based Band SO SHUSH, and here Vocalist Carole Smart and Multi Instrumentalist Ian Drumm once more continue to progress, and both develop and expand their considerable musical horizons following their two previous fine Albums......It's really quite pointless trying to pin any kind of "Label" or "Category" on the music of SO SHUSH, their own influences being so completely diverse taking in all kinds of music ranging from: Rock, Pop, Prog Rock, Indy, Post Punk Energy, Futurist, Acoustic Folk, Jazz style Improvisational overtones, etc...Indeed a quite Eclectic mix of styles forms their own musical landscape, thus their music is simply their very own ....comprising the Compelling Crystal Clear tones of Carole Smart's distinctive voice, both innocently wistful and at other times so defiantly assertive as and where required, often providing layered vocal tracks as she handles the complete vocal sound of the Group....together with the considerable varied instrumentation provided by Ian Drumm, - a one man complete Band - most notably his tremendous driving Electric guitars, subtle Acoustic guitar work, plus atmospheric keyboards... so just open your head and listen...Just allow their music to weave it's way into your mind...and experience a quite fascinating journey...A Sojourn into those quite "MADCHESTER TIMES" .
