This Cd is a very easy cd to listen to. Michael Ortega is a genius and has captured the spirit of the San Francisco Bay Area. A self taught vibraphonist and song writer from an early age, Michael Ortega has been experimenting with teaching and also producing in his own recording studio, Aural Seduction Studio in the South Bay. Michael is also a scuba diver, a father of one child, and a man with unlimited patience. He is married and lives in Santa Cruz California with his wife Janine. He grew up in the San Joaquin Valley but attended a year of high school in East San Jose California where he met and befriended many other musicians his own age ( trumpet player,Nasario Gutierrez, sax player Jr." Jay" Rojas, guitar player David Mendoza). He was influenced by Earth Wind and Fire's "Head to the Sky" album back in the 70's and all the other jazz musicians of the time including the late Cal Tjader. He loves all music and encourages young new talented artists to keep things new and to love what they do. This Cd is a great Cd to own as it will move you and most likely you'll find he is one of the finest artist today.
