This is the first official release by Ty Showers. Ty started in music at a very young age but had a goal of making a living in music by the time he was 21. He came close, but would have to ditch the dream. So at 22, having 2 1/2 years of college under his belt, decided to go on the accelerated 2 year program at Chicago's DeVry Institute and procure a degree in Computer Science. For the past 25 years Ty has been in the corporate world. Though out of the music business, he was not out of music. He continued to compose and write songs throughout the 90s and early 2000s. Working a software project in Gatineau, Canada, he was urged by a colleague to put his music on YouTube. Ty thought this was a stupid idea, but after giving it some thought he investigated other avenues where musicians distribute music. Re-stricken with the music bug, Ty has been dusting off tunes, buying equipment and producing and uploading music he and his friends enjoy. He is also sharing the songs with you by posting them to Last.fm. Ty is blogging about his goal to release an album every month at http://tyshowers.blogspot.com, where he talks about the challenges of launching a music career and categorizing his music, not as Jazz music but as an offshoot of jazz.
