Album
"Luck In The Valley" is the final album by American guitarist Jack Rose, released in 2010 shortly after his untimely death. The album features the fiddle playing of Mike Gangloff (of Pelt and Black Twig Pickers) on "Lick Mountain Ramble", the banjo of Glenn Jones on "Moon in the Gutter", and the ragtime piano of Hans Chew on "St. Louis Blues". The album title refers to the old red light section of St. Louis and was a code for procuring the services of a prostitute. Says Rose "I read about it on some liner notes to a re-issue of pre-war St. Louis recordings and I liked the ring of it".
