After remarkable debut Hidden Scenes last year, Sundrugs returns with the new album Low, redefining his aesthetic. While the dark-ambient tag still applies, Low is more eclectic, introducing new industrial textures and languid electronics into a less smoky environment. Kawalarz still marches into darkness armed with sad and vaporous pads, drenched in reverb and ashes (Cheating The Bats, Escape N/A or the opaque 22 minutes of final track 2082). But there’s also a thin sliver of light in this ocean of coal (Billion Of Light Years, Somnolence Airlines or the opening minutes of Melanistic Aberration).
